About "The Great Summer 2017 Garden Soil Experiment"

Ever wonder whether one particular garden soil/soilless mix works best in a vegetable garden? Whether it's compost with top soil, Mel's Mix, or the bagged garden soil you can buy from your local home improvement store?

We're putting this to the test this season by growing our vegetables in three different types of garden soil in our raised beds:
Bed 1: Miracle Gro Garden Soil & Miracle Gro Nature's Care Raised Bed Soil
Bed 2: Mel's Mix, aka Square Foot Gardening Mix - 1 part Compost, 1 part Peat Moss, 1 part Vermiculite
Bed 3: 1 part Top Soil, 1 part Compost
