Platforms scaled coaching, legitimized budgets, and opened doors. What they cannot carry, by design, is meaning. Algorithms replace encounter, standardization replaces judgment, dashboards replace presence. The coach shifts quietly—from professional voice to service unit, from subject to function. This isn’t about bad platforms or weak coaches. It’s about systems that thin what they cannot hold.
The ethical line is crossed when presence thins, because presence is not a soft skill—it’s a moral stance. Don’t resist platforms; ground yourself outside them. Build an identity beyond dashboards. Reflect even when it isn’t required. Speak, write, and stay in supervision, so the system doesn’t become the only narrator of your work. Because the real danger isn’t platform coaching. It’s forgetting who you are as a coach in a system that has no reason to remember you.
