DIY second hand flips: Office Zen Makeover, furniture refinishing by sanding back & Board & Batten

Welcome to this week’s DIY Home decor! This week I will be showing you a furniture refinishing project by sanding to bring it down to the bare wood for a natural organic look! Sanding and refinishing wood furniture can be tricky and long process, but with the right tools it can be done! Next I will show you how to create unique board and batten look with more design elements taking in consideration of cost in these difficult high inflation times! With these considerations you can create a relaxing zen office/den makeover for any budget! This home office makeover on low budget can be tailored to your needs and still get a dramatic look for a low cost. In this tutorial we will show you how to saving money for room makeover by DIY’ing things yourself and making cost considerations on MDF wood materials. Sometimes just sanding back old furniture is all you need for a natural updated look!

Board and Batten Spacing Formula

Board Spacing (Inches) =

Wall Length (inches)-(x# of Battens x Batten Width (inches))
# of Board Spaces(x# of battens-1)
Example: = 167" - (8x 3.5")
(8-1)
Board Spacing = 19.85 Inches (20")
