A hidden offbeat place in Ladakh - Teri Village. In fact, there is not only one Teri village but two Teri Villages: Teriphu and Terido (Teri Phu or Teri Do). Both villages, Teri Phu and Teri Do, are part of Rong Valley in Ladakh which is home to the most number of Snow Leopards as per density of the region.

Yes, you can spot a snow leopard here in Teri village, if you are lucky enough.

Teriphu holds a lot of significance due to the presence of its Sukdung which dates back to the time of King Ashoka and it is one of the most prominent Ashok Stupas you can visit up there in Ladakh. Lots of pilgrims visit the Skudung at Teriphu Village to offer their prayers and worship the Ashoka's chortern. It is believed to have been formed on its own and hence, people have a lot of belief in it.

If you are looking for a not-so-known, calm, offbeat place in Ladakh to rejuvenate yourself away from the hustle and bustle, well, Teri villages and the Cho House Homestay located in Terido village is the best place you can visit in Ladakh now.
