France pension reform protests: Who will blink first? | DW News
France is bracing for a weekend of disruption, with Yellow Vest protesters joining striking public sector workers. It's the largest strike in decades and it has crippled transportation across the country. But in his first comments since the strike began, France's Prime Minister Édouard Charles Philippe insisted the government will not scrap its pension reform plans, and that the changes he's proposing will be fair. French President Emmanuel Macron sees pension reform as one of his core issues, and is unlikely to bow to the pressure of protests.
