FORTIS - We Need More Space

One of the very important - if not the most important - milestones in the long history of FORTIS watches is the conquering of space.

Already during the 1960s Rolf Vogt (Founders son) visited the NASA to hand over the very first Spacematic models to one of the Gemini crews - the program to prepare for the Apollo missions including the moon landing.

Ever since FORTIS has been engaged with space and so a bit later the Russian space program ROSKOSMOS declared FORTIS watches as their official equipment for every future Cosmonaut. Since 1994 the FORTIS Official Cosmonauts Chronograph accompanies every Cosmonaut on the way into darkness, weightlessness and loneliness.

It has been the FORTIS Chronograph that has been the first Chronograph in open space and until today it has the most flown orbits on MIR and later on ISS.

Since a few years FORTIS is preparing for the next big thing: Mars.
Therefore FORTIS is partnering up with other mars-driven projects to get as much expertise to create the best mars-going watch on the planet earth.
