Fully 3D Printed RC Rover Tank: Part 1 Testing

A New Year calls for new content.

A fully 3d printed rc tracked vehicle I desgned and built for my collage project. This is the first outdoor test. It is not complete and so it is missing some parts like the solar pannels and camera gimbal as this is intended to be solar charged and have a operating camera gimbal.

The problem I’m trying to solve is a small and quick rover that can be deployed on the moon or other planets that might be visited in the near future. My idea is that rovers today are slow and will never be able to cover the required ground, so my propose have a small and light rover that can travel distance quicker that the rovers of today. The purpose of the rover is to scout out areas for points of interest. If it find something of interest, rovers like curiosity for example will come to that location for detailed analysis that the smaller rover can’t do. It can both be made and sent to space or be build out using 3d printers once they get to the destination. This will help in space as it is very limited on a space ship.

This is a project I have been working on for a while and I am happy to finally have something to show to you though keep in mind this is not completed and there are many thing that need to be done before it is finished.

There will be another video comming out once it is complete where I will explain how I made it and the troubles I faced.
