5. The Idea Of Skynet Is Actually Appealing
Ok, hold on, I know that sounds bad, but I'm not talking about "evil overlord" Skynet, I'm talking about the original idea for Skynet. You see, despite humanities flaws (which I'll talk about later), Skynet was designed to help. In fact, it was designed by the military in order to help take away the "human error" that pilots and strategic minds sometimes have. For a computer can look at all the variables in the blink of an eye and determine what to do, while a humanity takes much more time.

4. Technology Is A Big Part Of Our Lives
Pop quiz. When was the original Terminator movie released? Did you guess 1984? Because you're right. And that point is very important to how Skynet could actually become real.
You see, back in that time, computers were still at the beginnings of their life. Yes, computers had been out for years, but certain advances that we all take for granted now were only just being released. For example, CD-Roms, LaserJet Printers, the Macintosh, and more were being released in that year.

3. We Want To Keep Advancing Technology
Humanity has a lot of flaws, and I'll be addressing one of them later on in my list. But one of the things that is actually quite admirable is its desire to never settle. Now, yes, there is such thing as being fine with where you are in life, and that's your prerogative. But most people want more, and they fight to get more, and in terms of technology, they want to advance it more.

2. A.I. Is Very Real, and It's Getting Smarter
You may not realize it, but A.I. is actually in many different places in our world today. To be fair, it's not close to Skynet...but it's getting there. A.I., or artificial intelligence, is the study of making a computer program that can think for itself and respond with needing the help of someone else. To that extent, something like Siri could be defined as Artificial Intelligence as it understands (most) questions, and knows how to respond to them. But even Siri is bare bones.

1. Humans Never Learn...Until It's Too Late
Now, I know that may sound pessimistic, or downright mean, and hey, I don't say it light. I mean, I am a human myself...or am I? Regardless, humanity doesn't exactly have a good track record in terms of making decisions that can drastically alert the fate of the world. Despite having multiple wars that have spanned countries and continents, we see to always find a way to get into another one.
