LOBSTER LIMIT with Brownie's Third Lung- Florida Mini-Season - Ep 7

In this SnapperTale, we head out to catch some Spiny Lobster during the first day of what is called "Spiny Lobster Mini-Season". This is a two-day only period for the general public (with proper fishing license and lobster stamp) to catch them before the commercial fishermen lay in their traps. The regular season opens up a few weeks later.

In this case, we work the patch reefs in Biscayne National Park, FL, where the regulations only allow for 6 lobsters per person, per day. The lobster carapace must be 3" or larger and must be measured while the lobster is still underwater. Undersized lobsters or lobsters with eggs must be released. Before ever going out the catch your own, you should check your local regulations as they do vary.

The underwater breathing device we are using is from Brownie's Marine Group, the Brownie's Third Lung. Our set up allows for three divers at a time and is perfect for this kind of shallow water hunt.

The underwater video was shot using only an iPhone 7 in a waterproof case from OUNNE (available at Amazon). The music is from the free use YouTube music library. The editing was completed on an iMac using Apples iMovie program.
