FloorCon 2020 is 2 weeks away. I'm honored to be one of this year's speakers.

I am honored to have been asked to be a speaker at FloorCon 2020. Todd the FloorForce founder and CEO reached out to me two weeks ago to ask of I would speak at this year's FloorCon 2020 event. I am both honored and humbled to have been asked to take on this great responsibility.
I started my business from scratch 10 years ago and I did not know what to name it so I just called it The Carpet Guys. I never in a million years would have thought that the small little one man business that I started in the basement of a foreclosed home that I was living in would turn into a nearly 30 million dollar per year sales machine dominating the shop at home flooring market in Michigan.
I started off with zero money and went door to door selling samples that I carried with me in my trunk. by the end of the first year I had sold over $300,000 by myself and had one of my close friends doing all the installation work. By the end of the second year, I had brought on two more full time sales people and three installers. in 2011 we sold one and a half million dollars of sales. the following years we continued to grow and by the end of 2017 we were approaching $20 million of annual sales. we remained around $20 million of sales for the last 2 years, but with a change of upper leadership and a spark of rejuvenation, we are now having months exceeding 2.8 million dollars in sales. this last month we were just a few thousand dollars shy of hitting a benchmark goal of three million dollars of sales in one single month. even though we were shut down for a a quarter of the year due to Covid-19, we are still on place to to sell a little under $30 million dollars in gross sales volume.
I've started an incredible company with an outstanding culture that provides fantastic opportunity for many. My staff members are very profitable and happy, and the business itself has become very profitable as well.
