BOAT LAUNCH DISASTER

The owner had the truck in park and emergency brake on . My guess is the front winch line may have been still hooked up . The boat floated just enough to pick up on the front of the trailer . The boat ramp is so steep and slimy with moss the truck lost traction on the rear tires and it rolled back into the basin .
I have recovered 5 trucks off boat ramps in past 10 years . My recommendation is if you are going to launch a boat by yourself you should put a wheel chock under your front wheels so even if ear of truck pops out of gear or it looses traction the chocks will hold it safely while you move your bat over to the dock

. Safety first we don't want to see anyone hurt .

At 4.40 The owner that tried to launch his boat as I pulled up made a rather nasty comment about me . Notice that my son took exception to his comment and explained to him unless he wanted to get his head butted he best move to the end of the dock and shut up . He took Parkers advise moved to the west end of the dock and stayed there until we left . Wise man .
