Garden Court Chambers & JENGbA webinar on Joint Enterprise

Garden Court Chambers and Joint Enterprise: Not Guilty by Association (JENGbA) invite you to a webinar on Joint Enterprise and Race.

JENGbA are a grassroots campaign, run by volunteers, mainly by women (mothers, sisters, aunties and cousins but also heartbroken dads and uncles) who will not rest while their loved ones are serving mandatory life sentences for crimes committed by others. JENGbA campaign against the use of joint enterprise as it is unjust, unfair and discriminatory towards working class and BAME communities.

The webinar discusses:

Racialisation as a driver of criminal injustice;
The impact of Covid-19 on the JENGbA inside campaigners and their families on the outside and;
The application of the landmark joint enterprise case Jogee and ‘substantial injustice’ in post colonial societies.

Speakers:

Rajiv Menon QC, Garden Court Chambers
Professor Felicity Gerry QC, Carmelite Chambers
Dr Patrick Williams, Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University
Gloria Morrison, JENGbA campaigner
Thalia Maragh, Barrister, Garden Court Chambers (Chair)
