MT Moraih holds our hearts. Stunning dirt roads made this one of the most beautiful places we have been. The end destination for our two month and two thousand mile dirt road circumnavigation of southern Nevada was the Mount Moriah Wilderness. While on the lookout for a cool stream to swim in we discovered Smith Creek Canyon. This place was one of the highlights of the trip with a large stream flowing through some of the most beautiful rock formations we have seen. We took a short hike, went for a desert swim and then decided to set up camp for the night. We had the place all to ourselves. There is something about the silence of sleeping under that stars away from it all that brings a big smile to my face. Destinations like this highlight how remote Nevada can be.
