Como Guru Ram Das, el cuarto Gurú de los Sijs, era conocido por sus habilidades de humildad y curación, este mantra también es conocido por sus cualidades curativas y para impartir humildad a quien lo canta.

Este mantra se relaciona directamente con la curación y la energía protectora representada por Guru Ram Das.
El mantra se compone de dos partes.
La primera parte es un mantra nirgun (Guru Guru Wahe Guru). Esto proyecta la mente a la fuente del conocimiento y del éxtasis.
La segunda parte es un mantra de sirgun (Guru Ram Das Guru). Esto significa la sabiduría que viene como siervo del infinito. Es el mantra de la humildad. Reconecta la experiencia del finito al infinito.
