Heavy rain is expected to continue in south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales today as a convergence line moves up from the south and a trough moves in from the east.

It is forecast to intensify this evening and coincide with high tides and gale force winds tomorrow.
A severe weather warning is in place from Fraser Island south to northern NSW for heavy rainfall and damaging winds.
