We’re Swimming With Turtles (Again!)
Strap on your flippers—the TurtleCam is back! We’re taking another deep dive with green sea turtles off the coast of the Bahamian island of Eleuthera. The camera was placed on the turtle’s back by biologist Nathan Robinson and his team at the Cape Eleuthera Institute. These scientists are hoping that the information gathered from this study will help protect turtles around the world. And, don’t worry, the device is completely harmless. After a couple hours, it pops off the turtle’s back and floats to the surface of the ocean. Nathan will be joining us to answer all your questions about these incredible creatures. So ask away!
Thanks to Nathan Robinson and our Friends at the Cape Eleuthera Institute for this awesome footage! To follow more of Nathan's work, please check out https://www.instagram.com/wild.blue.science and more about the Cape Eleuthera Institute can be found here: https://www.instagram.com/ceibahamas/
The TurtleCam project was funded by the Cape Eleuthera Institute, West Connecticut State University (WCSU), and WCSU's Finding Our Way project. This latter project was supported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Marine Fisheries Service and Office of Education through its New England B-WET Program. This amazing footage was shot entirely on a Paralenz camera.
