The Twin Peaks season 3 finale brought up a lot of questions, but what does it mean for season 1 and season 2 of the original series. Agent Dale Cooper went back in time and stopped Laura Palmer from being murdered. If Laura was never murdered did Agent Cooper ever go to the town of Twin Peaks in the first place?
The first two seasons of Twin Peaks were based on Coop's investigation of the murder of Laura Palmer. The FBI were called in to assist the Twin Peak's sheriff Harry S. Truman. In The Return Philliip Jeffries assited Dale Cooper in travelling back in time which is something we know that Jeffies and Major Garland Briggs had done as well.
In preparation for the rewatch of Twin Peaks season 1 series I am working on I took a look at whether the events of that season still exist. We look at the popular Twin Peaks theories, and what likely happened as Gordon Cole, Phillip Jeffries, Major Briggs, and Agent Cooper enacted a plan to stop Judy. Was the plan to save Laura so that she was never killed? Or, was the plan to get Judy to follow Coop and Laura into a pocket dimension for a showdown?
