It's no secret that Valyrian steel is probably made with blood magic and human sacrifice, just as Lightbringer was forged through the blood magic sacrifice of Nissa Nissa, with Lightbringer having supposedly drank up Nissa Nissa's very soul. Turns out there's a fairly well-established tradition of black, soul-drinking fantasy swords, and boy are they ever cursed.
