Storm Debi lashes Galway streets with wind and floodwaters

Streets in the western Ireland coastal region of Galway flooded as Storm Debi barrelled in from the Atlantic.

Videos posted to social media showed parked vehicles partially submerged while wind and heavy rain lashed the streets.

#stormdebi is expected to move east across Ireland and towards England, as Britain's #metoffice issued alerts for strong #winds "up to 80mph" (128kph) in the north western county of Lancashire.
