The Making Of: The Bloody Beetroots x Dab Motors Collaboration

Dab Motors was created to bring a new breed of motorcycles to life, a technological pursuit of mechanical perfection and beyond expectations in a world of tradition. In an effort to bring Dab Motors closer to a fresh audience, we have collaborated with The Bloody Beetroots. What brought us together was ultimately our similar goal; to deliver an exhilarating experience to people. Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo aka The Bloody Beetroots is a classically trained musician that explored punk rock in his youth and ultimately found himself in producing genre-defying electronic music. We started with traditional motorcycles, the mechanical equivalent of punk rock and the nonchalant way of life. Ultimately, we both headed towards improving our craft and arrived at a point where technology lets us express ourselves without confining to the old means. 

The collaboration between Dab Motors and The Bloody Beetroots is a 500cc single-cylinder engine is at the core of the bike, a thumping motor that reacts to the slightest twist of the throttle. The Kayaba suspension guarantees a smooth ride and the Brembo brakes take seconds to halt the bike. A blacked-out color scheme is applied all over the bike and lighting elements are integrated into the body for an undisrupted visual experience. 

By bringing the bike to life, we managed to embody a spirit and passion that is unable to be captured by words. We shot the motorcycle together with The Bloody Beetroots in a well thought photoshoot. Seeing the two together, an artist who makes music for rebels and a machine built for rebellion, made it all make sense. A minimal and dark motorcycle, this understated machine only roars when paired with its human companion. Rifo’s energy vibrates even through the images in the same frequency as the motorcycle. Tattooed across his chest is 1977, the birth year of punk rock. This powerful symbol has been transferred to the bike as well, finding its way on the gas cap and side plate. It perfectly encapsulates The Bloody Beetroots in a road going machine. For Rifo, it might be his best way of expressing his rebellious ways outside of his creative musical genius.
