NFL Rule Deep Dive: The Exact Reason This Motion Was Illegal

On Sunday Night football on NBC, the Detroit Lions ran a trick play with Jared Goff that initially resulted in a touchdown. However officials got together and decided that there was an illegal motion by Goff on the play and wiped off the touchdown.

The tv broadcast didn't do as good a job explaining the rule to the audience, and so I will show you in the NFL rulebook exactly why this was the correct call by the officials on the play.
