I started dressing modestly when I was 18 years old because I am trying to follow the Will of God. I felt very unfulfilled going after the pleasures of this world and I found that only true happiness can be found in Heaven. To get to Heaven I have to dress more modestly so that I can practise the virtues of charity and chastity. It's not easy for me because I do care about clothing and fashion but it is something that I am willing to do for God because of how much He loves me. I just wanted to share my modesty journey or story with you all. The attention I received from men changed drastically once I began to dress more modestly and once I began to embrace my femininity. There aren't many Catholics that put attention to dressing modestly but knowing that some do makes me very happy. My faith as a traditional Catholic has definitely had some influence on me but I am very happy with my decision and I don't think I will go back to dressing the way I used to. There are many benefits to dressing modestly like receiving more respect, feeling dignified and showing my worth. It's hard to talk about this topic especially while being honest but here is my personal story on why I started to dress modestly at 18. I also wanted to share some of my struggles in regards to dressing modestly.
