Marco Polo Journeys [IgeoNews]
Marco Polo was a Venetian merchant and traveler, famous for his travels to East Asia narrated in The Travels of Marco Polo, story unveiled in Medieval Europe the lands of Central Asia and China.
Marco was born and learned to trade as his father and uncle, Niccolò and Maffeo, traveled through Asia and apparently met Kublai Khan. In 1269 both returned to Venice and first saw Marco. The three of them embarked on an epic journey to Asia, which visited Armenia, Persia and Afghanistan to China, traveling across the Silk Road. On the return journey they passed through the Strait of Hormuz since arriving in Venice in 1295 after a journey of 24 years in which they had traveled more than 24,000 km and returning laden with riches.
On his return to Italy, Venice was at war with his rival, Genoa, and in the course of the conflict frame was captured and imprisoned by the Genoese. In 1298, during his time in prison, he met the writer Rustichello of Pisa, whom he related his fabulous trips, which were the subject of the book known primarily as Le divisament du monde, Livre des merveilles du monde, or Il milione. Released in 1299, Marco Polo became a wealthy merchant and member of the Grand Council of the Republic of Venice. He died in 1324 and was buried in the church of San Lorenzo in your city. The famous Venetian pioneer this travel inspired, among others, Christopher Columbus.

• Cross the Bay of Bengal to Ceylon and on the coast of India to the Kathiawar Peninsula.
• Final Landing Hormuz and again back to Tabriz.
• Cross the Caucasus and shipped back in Trabzon.
• saturates again returned to Constantinople and finally Venice.
