Fly fishing, Hiking and Camping the Kosciuszko

In February 2019, I spent a week fly fishing, hiking and camping at Kosciuszko National Park. I used to come here frequently in my twenties with the ANU mountaineering club. I remember cross country skiing across the frozen Blue Lake, ice climbing, building a snow cave just below the Mt. Kosciuszko summit, bush walking and mountain biking. The place was my playground. It was also the place where I nearly lost my life while skiing on the main range track. I can still remember sliding on my back down the steep, icy ridge and close to crashing my head on the granite boulders as I fell.

It had been over twenty years since I returned to Kozi. Rather than adrenalin, I took my time to reflect and kill time. The best way was to fish and hike or both at the same time.
