Astrophotography timelapse at Ruakokoputuna, New Zealand. In 8K.

7.5 hours condensed into 40 seconds, this video shows my astrophotography setup out in Ruakokoputuna, New Zealand, as it tracks some interstellar dust. Maybe I should put something over the camera display to stop the flashing. Watch it in 8K if you can! Or pick whatever the highest resolution is that youtube offers you.

The video starts with the Southern Cross (Crux) in the centre of the view, the Large Magellanic Cloud off to the left, and the Small Magellanic Cloud just disappearing off the left top of the view. After a moment the Galactic Kiwi (Pipe Nebula) and Galactic Core appear from the top right. The video finishes as Carina moves just out of view on the left and the sun rises.

My camera's display lights up after each photo, once every 5 minutes. That makes a timelapse look like a disco, so I have removed those frames from this version. ;-)
