Before he would do some seriously creative sh*t – like working with the remaining members of the Doors, score the soundtrack for Sprinbreakers and collab with his one time girlfriend Ellie Goulding.

Skrillex born Sonny More found his interest in art – specifically music at the age 0f 12, would be making music on his computer at 13 and become the front man for a Emo Rock Band ‘From First To Last’ before requiring vocal surgery – he then broke out on his own as an electronic DJ – originally under the name Twipz before opting for his childhood nickname Skrillex instead.

Sonny John More was born on January 15, 1988 in Highland Park, in North East Los Angeles. He was given up by his birth mother and raised by two loving adoptive parents.

His actual mom would visit sporadically known only to him as a friend of the family. When he was informed that she was his mother at 16 he decided he wanted nothing to do with her.

The family moved to the Forest Hill neighborhood of San Francisco when Sonny was 2. By the age of 5 Skrillex was obsessed with Music, Michael Jackson in particular and would dress up as him every day and even wear Michael Jackson costumes to school.

At the ages of 9 his parents gifted him his first guitar and his interest in rock music took off, The first albums he ever bought were Marilyn Manson’s ‘Antichrist Superstar’ and Nine Inch Nails ‘’Broken’ EP. Angsty!
