Yamaha F350 5.3L V8 Outboard

UPDATES: scroll down in description:
Installed on 26ft aluminum custom built boat. Replaces 2004 Yamaha F225 V6 4stroke outboard. Performance is mind-boggling compared to old motor.

Sorry I refuse to get a google+ "fail" account, so updates/comment answers here:
Cost: about $25k cdn - it was a boat show special and coast guard "return" unused.
Top speed is based on many factors, this is like a square shoebox for aerodynamics. It's also 5000lbs (still light for what it is) vs a bass boat at 2500lbs. Aside from the size/weight of the boat prop pitch is the next big factor. You want a top speed full throttle 500rpm or so below redline, then it's pitched correctly. However, if you carry a lot of load/people then that prop will have too much pitch and will bog down low or not come out of the hole. But generally with this boat/motor combo the HP will overcome that.
Jackplate is from bob's machine shop and works really well. Only jack plate rated for this big a motor.
Yep, they have a flywheel issue, I thought it was 400hrs not 300hrs to replace. It's a dual-mass flywheel and when they fail it's engine failure. Dealer replaces for free. The 2000 VW Beetle 1.8T my wife had, had a dual-mass flywheel, switched to ECS tuning's single mass and uprated clutch - way cheaper and noticed no difference on idle smoothness.
YES, this is Howe Sound area. :-)
This boat is currently out of the water for hull repairs as well as interior refit. After that's it's sold. Already have a 29ft custom built by Walker boats in Coombs, on Vancouver Island, BC. Bruce Cope hull design, twin Yamaha 300's.
