Black and White Thinking- Cognitive Distortion #1
"We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are"
Black and white thinking, also known as "all or nothing thinking", is a cognitive distortion or thinking error. Black and White thinking distorts our reality and contributes to anxiety, depression, and other mental illness. In this video, I'll teach you what is Black and White thinking and how to change it in order to have better mental health and relationships.
Understanding Cognitive Distortions is an essential tool from the CBT approach to therapy, and this video will teach you how to notice your thought patterns, figure out why you think the way you do, and help you replace those negative thoughts with more helpful thoughts.
Black and White thinking contribute to depression and anxiety and it can interfere with relationships, so changing how you think can make a big difference in treating anxiety, depression, and improving relationships.
