There is no way to prove if the person beside you truly has consciousness—they could be a philosophical zombie, looking and behaving exactly like a human yet lacking an inner world. Descartes famously stated, "I think, therefore I am," proving only one's own existence. The consciousness of everyone else remains mere conjecture.

I, too, assert that I am real, yet I cannot determine whether I am, nor can I verify whether you are. In a world where everyone insists they are real... if one is a counterfeit, it may be me. Or it may be you. Are you real—right now?
