From the archives: Violins of Hope

Amnon Weinstein, a luthier who died on March 4, 2024 at age 84, honored the memories of those who perished in the Holocaust by restoring dozens of string instruments that were played by Jewish prisoners in Nazi concentration camps. In this "Sunday Morning" story that originally aired December 6, 2015, Serena Altschul talked with Weinstein about his mission, and reported on a special concert by the Cleveland Orchestra performed on Weinstein's "Violins of Hope."
