What Covid-19 has been like in Negril Jamaica

Negril Jamaica has had to battle the challenges of the Corona virus just like everywhere else in the world. As you can imagine the challenges facing this resort beach town are the same as other places around the world in some ways but also unique in its own way.

I have created this Covid-19 Negril series in hopes to bring on the ground insight from a wide cross section of individuals. The goal here is to bring perspective to the inherent challenges of the era we’re currently living through and to understand what the people of Negril are doing to overcome these unprecedented challenges.

In this episode I give you a brief tour of what my family’s hotel, Travellers Beach Resort, is like during the Covid lockdown in March of 2020 when the lockdowns first started. I also have the opportunity to speak with several taxi drivers and a glass bottom boat operator to understand the specific challenges they’re facing and what they’re currently doing with their time. Lastly, the video finishes up with a brief highlight showing you what Negril was like before the Corona virus.
