Fudog and Dragon Sleeve ... Design and Tattoo Session One by Chris at Iron Cypress
This project is around 10 -12 hours of preparation and 7 hours of tattooing so far. We will be back on it as soon as we are able to work again after this break. I'll try to video the remainder of the tattoo sessions.
Consultation was done on a Wacom tablet and Painter X, over photos of the client's arm. We routinely do these consults to get a quick sketch to make sure the direction and layout is right, but for Japanese tattooing I, feel drawing the final on paper helps me keep a better flow and shapes to my design. Overall layouts can be figured out so quickly on the computer though, it really helps to iron out a rough sketch there first. It is like painting in fast forward with every medium at once, and with a dedicated button to erase my screwups.
Drawing here was done using Sharpie markers, then Prismacolor pencils, and finally Micron pens and Tombow markers for the line drawing.
I believe this session was done using all coils... though I do sometimes throw in the occasional rotary.
Cameras were two drift stealth cameras.
Thanks for watching, hope you are all doing well.
