Odesa residents enjoy a few hours of sunshine
(2 Apr 2022) Residents of the coastal city of Odesa took advantage of a few hours of sunshine on Saturday afternoon to relax, one day after at least three Russian ballistic missiles were fired towards the region.
Odesa residents Anna Moravinets and Maria Bugai each said they felt safe despite the ongoing conflict and had confidence in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Moravinets went as far as to express optimism about the future of the country and city.
"I don't want to move anywhere because I believe that soon the situation will be calm and quiet and everything will be fine," said the 29-year-old seated in a little square in the center of the city.
Regional leader Maksim Marchenko said that at least three Russian ballistic missiles were fired late Friday at the Odesa region,.
The Ukrainian military said the Iskander missiles did not hit the critical infrastructure they targeted in Odesa, Ukraine's largest port and the headquarters of its navy.
