Kevin Stea/That Rogue Romeo Campaign to fund 3 Music Videos!

My name is Kevin Stea... meet my alter-ego That Rogue Romeo! I am thrilled to be realizing a life-long dream of releasing a full album of music this April, entitled 'Machine & Magic', and am producing 3 music videos to accompany it! Performing is my life, my work and my obsession and I have pulled together a dream team of creatives from the world of Dance to join me in translating these songs to film.

Key elements are in place... I have amazing talents like Brian Friedman (Creative Director X-Factor US/UK, Choreographer for Britney Spears), Tony Testa (Choreographer for Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue) signed on to direct and choreograph, and some of the world's best dancers. I have cameras and pro equipment available and ready to go in April, I even have some soundstage time I've bartered for! Videos are expensive and a huge team effort, there's still lighting, rehearsal, editing, post, props/wardrobe, scenery/location, talent... the list goes on. I will be capturing the whole process on camera and sharing it with you!

I have been so fortunate to perform and work with the world's greatest directors, photographers and pop stars... Michael Jackson, Madonna, Lady Gaga, David Bowie, Beyonce, Rihanna, Whitney Houston, Herb Ritts, David Lachappelle, Mike Nichols, Baz Lurhmann, Tarsem Singh, David Fincher... for millions of people for over 20 years. One of my first times on stage was in high school in Singapore. I had never taken a class and had barely danced a step. The director of the show told me to go out by myself in a spotlight, and "just feel the music and let it move you". I did. I LOVED it. I had been given a language. Just three years later I was dancing onstage with Madonna in the Blonde Ambition Tour, wonderfully lost in the deafening roar of of the crowd in Houston, and I've performed onstage and on camera ever since. I search for the moment where I disappear into the movement and simply become the music. NOW since I began writing my own music, disappearing into the sounds and lyrics has led me to find myself and my voice clearer than ever.

I had given up on this dream. A shady recording contract kept me silent for five years in the prime of my life unable to sing or release any music. With the label system firmly telling me that I had to conform to their idea of commerciality, I left it behind. My grandmother pointed out I had stopped writing completely, stopped creating. She was right, I had silenced myself.

Two years ago I tore my meniscus on tour and realized my life of dance on camera was going to have to transform into something new, or fade away. I realized that if I didn't pursue my music full out on my terms, it would be the single biggest regret of my life. So I'm choosing to transform my life with music! I've travelled the world to perform, for art, for the love of what I do, and learned from the best. Now it is finally my moment to get up center stage once again, feel my own music and let it move me!

My music is meant to be SEEN. It's not complete to me without visuals, without a performance to be experienced, imagery to complement. I dream of being able to continue to perform, to move and inspire people around the world, giving dancers, musicians and choreographers more freedom in their art than they've ever experienced with a performer. Hopefully these videos will open the doors to making that a reality.

It is difficult to choose which of my song-babies will be the first to come to life on film because each has a story to tell, but the outcome of this kickstarter campaign will determine what we can do! This is where we need your help! PLEASE JOIN ME!
