Heart-Break on the Beach

Out of all the stories coming out of the 2013 Pupping season, this story of a mom and her dead pup was the most Heart-breaking of them all. This story unfolded on Lovers Point Beach in Pacific Grove. For 6 days this mother seal carried her dead pup and protected it from the gulls and other seals. For those of us watching this poor mother it was emotionally draining and we wished we could somehow help her to understand and let go of her deceased pup. We never saw her again. We will be watching for her during the 2014 Pupping season and our hope is that she have a healthy pup in which to care for.
