'The book not only goes to the root of the problems that necessitated nullification of Art 370 and enactment of CAA, it also discusses the backdrop of CAA, i.e. the events and ideology that led to the partition of India, and that left the problem of minorities unresolved. The readers will learn about how the sub-continent was divided on Muslim-Non-Muslim basis (as per the scheme of the Mountbatten Plan agreed to by both the Congress, and the Muslim League). The provisions of Liaquat-Nehru Pact (LN Pact) were not honoured, and instead Pakistan stopped accepting the Muslims into Pakistan. It is the violation of this pact that caused the situation leading to CAA. Looking to the unreasonable demands of the Muslim League and its Barelvi support base, Dr. Ambedkar had advised Congress to distinguish between appeasement and settlement. This never happened, and became the cause of partition. Dr. Ambedkar had advocated full population exchange in case of partition. The LN Pact negated this. Dr. Ambedkar had also said that the Muslim politics in India is ‘gangster’s method in politics. The book draws very heavily from Dr. Ambedkar’s book ‘Pakistan or the Partition of India.
