Dave Rhoton and his family have been making some of the BEST detail parts for large scale trains EVER! Starting with Ozark Miniatures, they now have several brands of scale parts, including Hartford Large Scale Products, Precision Products, CDS Lettering, Air-Ezze products, Fine Folk Figures and MORE!!

Located in historic Cedar City Utah, they also rase miniature horses and donkey's as well. Cedar has history as an iron mining town and sits at the gateway to several National Parks and Monuments including Zion Canyon, (Kolob Canyon) Bruce Canyon, Cedar Breaks and Brian Head.

We visit the museum to see how the Mormon pioneers mined and smelted iron as well as a side trip to Ironton, site of the mines and the 1850 smelter.

Ozark Miniatures was formed in 1978 by Larry and Carol Herget of Missouri . Larry trying to scratch build cars was discouraged over the lack of parts available for the Garden railroad hobby. Being a master craftsman, he started manufacturing parts for himself, then friends, then the entire world.
David and Brenda bought the company from the Hergets in 2001 and moved the company from the Ozarks to Cedar City Utah.
In 2005 Ozark Miniatures purchased Sheridian Products from Ken Sheridian , which is a line of 1:20.3 detail parts and kits
In 2007 Ozark Miniatures Purchased Precision Products from . This fantastic line of outdoor building materials was invented by . The custom made plastic is the key to this companies success with building staying outdoors for 20+ years.
In 2011 Ozark Purchased CDS Lettering and Larry Larson Graphics. These dry transfers are the cats meow in lettering, The Decals were originally hand drawn by Tom Hood from photographs and then reduced to negatives. Then the artwork was screen printed making the finest dry transfer decals available
