MSC Splendida is a cruise ship of the MSC Cruises company. It has three sister ships: MSC Fantasia, MSC Divina and MSC Preziosa. Built in the Aker Yards France shipyards, then STX France, in Saint Nazaire, it was launched on July 12, 2009 in Barcelona, with godmother Sophia Loren, in the presence of the tenor José Carreras. The ship, one of the largest and most luxurious ever built, has a gross tonnage of 133,000 tons, an area of ​​450,000 square meters, is 333 meters long and is almost 76 meters high. It belongs to the segment of the Fantasia class, like the sister ships. It can accommodate 4,000 passengers, as well as 2,000 crew members. It has 18 bridges and 25 lifts, six Swarovski crystal stairways and Murano glass skylights. It offers passengers 6 swimming pools, 20 whirlpools, 20 bars, 6 restaurants, a wellness area called "Aurea Spa" of over 2000 m² and a reserved area furnished like a luxury yacht called "MSC Yacht Club" with 99 suites. , two private elevators, private pool and butler. Among other features, it also includes the presence of 1,637 cabins, 65,000 lighting points, 1,800 kilometers of electronic wiring, 20 whirlpools, 150 fountains and water jets. The ship is capable of reaching a maximum speed of almost 26 knots, about 50 km/h.
