WHITE LADY PRIORY-
Augustine cannoness C12 dedeciated to st Leonard...no evidence who founded it...may originate from C11...

closed 1536 after the dissoultion..land brought from the crown by William skiffington after his death his widow married Edward Giffard and built a timber frame manor house adjoining the priory ruins. The house was destroyed C18. Inside the priory is a medieval Catholic  church which had 200 burials recorded between 1688-1844 with C19 walls surronding the nunnary.

The family extended the farm and built Boscabel house....fitzherbert owner of white lady and Walter Evans owner of boscabel house.

Charles ii took refuge at white lady priory and then taken to Boscabel hpuse by Giffard family  in September 1651....hiding from parliamentrian force after battle of worcester.
