Well, to reduce the costs of launching payloads to space and encourage the commercialization of Low Earth Orbit (LEO), entrepreneurs as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and even Nasa have turned to everything from reusable rockets and 3-D printing to air-launch vehicles and high-altitude balloons. And now, a new company called SpinLaunch is creating one concept that genuinely seems like something out of this world!
Now, what exactly is the idea of SpinLaunch?
Behind this project is Jonathan Yaney, creator of the drone startup Titan Aerospace sold to Google in 2014, and who has since been developing a space shuttle concept that he has kept secret until internal sources have given him the first details.
“Since the dawn of space exploration, rockets have been the only way to access space. However, in 70 years, technology has made only small incremental advances,” Yaney said: “To truly commercialize and industrialize space, we need a 10x technological upgrade.”
