Defected Chinese virologist blows whistle on Communist Party’s COVID cover-up

A Chinese virologist has spoken out against China’s cover-up of COVID-19, highlighting the Chinese Communist Party's efforts to "cover-up its complete malfeasance” according to The Australian’s Richard Ferguson.

Li-Meng Yan defected to the US and told Fox News she believes China knew about human transmission of the virus well before it publicly admitted it was infectious.

She also said she was silenced when she tried to raise the alarm.

Mr Ferguson told Sky News host Sharri Markson this is incredibly significant because ever since the initial outbreak, China did its “absolute best to shine the spotlight away”.

“They know this is the closest that Xi Jinping’s regime has come to facing any sort of questions by the Chinese people,” he said.

“Xi Jinping’s grasp on power is looking more tenuous”.
