#WorldBalletDay 2020: Joburg Ballet LIVE from South Africa
On 29 October 2020 Joburg Ballet joined companies across the globe to celebrate #WorldBalletDay.
With the theme "Art bringing people together", our company members were thrilled to be officially part of this amazing day. The official celebrations took place in our studios at Joburg Theatre in the City of Joburg.
Watch as the company members go through their daily routine in the form of a classical ballet class and we also havee commentary from CEO Ms Esther Nasser and the Artistic Director Mr Iain MacDonald.
Special thanks to our Teachers for the day: Principal Dancer Claudia Monja and Teacher Thabang Mabaso, who is made his sophomore appearance on this World Ballet Day.
To the hardworking dancers that have kept resilient in some challenging times, we applaud and thank you for all the efforts you make to hone your craft and provide us with your world-class artistry.
To the audiences who joined us live from Johannesburg and beyond, we appreciate your kind words of encouragement. To the new members of our ballet family, we welcome you all and we thank you all for choosing to #SupportJoburgBallet.
