Dream Engagement! A short Glimpse of our Cute Ring Ceremony | Beautiful Bride and Groom Entry Dance

Posting this 4 months later, today.. on the 14th of June!
Kinda writing this as a blog -
It was one heaven of a ceremony. Being a part of the over - enthu Gujju-Kutchi community, we almost started prepping for this early into December. The entire theme was supposed to be decided as per my outfit. We made a mood board with pink and maroon pastels initially and searched for an unusual outfit at many places but all we got was old and utmost common stock at all shops because of all the post 1st wave situations. Finally found an unusual dress but in pastel green, so reworked the whole mood board, got Jash's outfit tailor-made and then moved on to matching our parents' outfits. I realized how over-choosy we architects and designers tend to become with shades and so we spent the entire month trying to find the perfect outfit for the six of us. I was suppose to receive my dress in Jan but everything went for a toss since it got delayed by 15 days first and then when it arrived it was 4x size larger. By mid Jan, everything else was finalized as per my original dress and now we were in deep trouble because finding a new unusual outfit that would match Jash's olive green tux and would be better than this one would be a challenge. We had a hell of a decision to make and I had to create a scene at the store to pressurize them into making a fresh outfit with the design we had originally picked within 4 days! Eventually they managed to make one but it still took 9 trials to get the fit right... The outfit looked 70% of what the original did but I compromised cause it was still beautiful! The next two weeks went in finding the perfect jewelry, accessories and footwear cause all of it was pending.
The last week was madness cause we under-slept because the preparations were never-ending. Right from the ring, decorations, dj, host, catering, cake, to hair, nails, mehndi (henna), facials, dance practices, preparing multiple gifts and everything that I can't even elaborately list here.....I know a lot of us know how weddings are supposed to be, I'm just sharing a part of my story cause it was superrrr exciting for us. Some of the best months I'll never forget...
D-Day! 14th Feb (Valentine's Day) Yes, it couldn't be cheesier, although a little fun fact - we picked 14th not because of valentines but actually because we started dating on 14th of October back in college and the original plan was supposed to get engaged in October.. but we had to postpone because of the pandemic. And, also it was a Sunday xD
Coming back to the DAY! Everything was glam! We enjoyed every bit of the day... Right from all the rituals to dancing and eating! To all the laughs and tears... All the amazing gifts we received! (especially the obvious cash in covers :P) I have given credits to every single person/brand involved in this ceremony on my Instagram handle https://www.instagram.com/ar.hetvibheda/ . Thank you to all of them for making this a magical experience! It was flawless (P.s. The cake melted a little and therefore shifted partly but we were in a such a high it didn't matter cause it was amazinglyyyy tasty.. you'll see I bit Jash's finger :p trying to eat it)
To everybody who could make it (especially the ones who weren't going to be able to but still travelled all the way from restricted campuses in Loni and Ahmedabad even) we couldn't be any more lucky or blessed... It was a short ceremony in a closed group of 75 people (family and friends) keeping all precautions in mind. Luckily, our timing couldn't have been better - at the end of 1st wave but before the 2nd wave in India and none of us got COVID after this ceremony. We are extremely sorry from all our heart because we couldn't invite many people that we wanted to. It was a tough call.
Kinda having a little common cold feet right now cause I'm not going to be able to feel my parent's energy in my living space constantly... But..... Anywhooops, hoping to get married with equal enthusiasm and joy and crazy stories to tell a few decades later xD
(A Little Note - Jash planned a surprise proposal in the middle of all this at a cute pet cafe. He chose the date on which we have decided to get married on this year .. so it'll exactly be a year to that... And, yes, we had already decided everything, so, the proposal happened only because the girl in me wanted some more cliche drama film-styles! Undoubtedly, It was NOICE! TOIT :P )
