Photo Tip Friday! Tip #1: Using negative space

Hey y'all! Just thought I would start a little series to give y'all some tips for taking photos from your smart phones. Today's tip is about using lots of negative space to show how small and fragile life is. This technique doesn't have to be used just for kids. You can use a cat, special heirloom, a decoration. Anything that you want to give extra attention to. I was shooting my kids so that's why I kept saying 'kids.' ;)

I love using lots of negative space in some of my photos! When I take a photo with more empty space than subject matter it's almost as if I'm taking away all distraction and giving the simple subject more respect. Not sure if that makes sense, but just want to encourage you to not feel like you have to fill the whole frame. Explore with some negative space. :)

More than anything, have FUN taking photos and try to get those photos printed out and in your journal or an album.

Hope that was helpful and excited to give y'all more tips in the future!
xoxo
