The One Young World Global Leadership Charter | Ubuntu

Ubuntu is the South African philosophy that we are all connected, so our actions matter because they affect others. Our Ambassador, Wandile, has adopted this philosophy in his organisation, Ubuntu Design Group.

Whilst growing up in the shanty towns of Durban, Wandile dreamt of helping his community overcome their economic challenges. After graduating from university, he combined his architectural knowledge with his ambition to help his community and founded Ubuntu Design Group, an organisation that designs and builds homes for people living in informal settlements.

“What’s the point of me having a dignified place to call home when people who look like me and come from my community do not have the minimum requirement to have a dream.”
