BLACKPINK’s rapper and singer Lalisa Manobal, lovingly called Lisa, has finally dropped her long-awaited debut solo album on February 28. Titled Alter Ego, the album consists of 15 tracks, out of which five were already dropped as pre-release singles. Among the latest tracks, one song titled Dream, in particular, has caught the attention of her fans as its lyrics appear to be a deep reflection on lost love.

Through the song Dream, Lisa tells a story of love that slipped through her fingers, with lyrics transporting the listeners to a fateful night in Tokyo back in 2019. The idol sings about how whenever she closes her eyes, she is transported back to those days, drowning in the memories of her past. “I’ve been thinking /That I got no idea what you’re thinking /Are you happy? Are you sad? /Are you always gonna hate me for that night in Tokyo? /When it ended, I kinda hoped that it’d be open-ended /But you never looked back," she sings, hinting at unresolved emotions and a relationship that ended without closure.
