Millennium Falcon engine startup sound source found!

I found the original source that was recorded for the Millennium Falcon engine start up sound. It's a 1940's elevator at Shasta Lake Dam in Northern California. I went on a tour of the dam and when the tour guide pushed the down button for the elevator that goes into the dam, that's when I heard a familiar sound. I couldn't quite place it, so I commented on how familiar it sounded. The guide said "well", then told us the story of how in the 1970s, the sound engineer was on the tour and heard the sound and asked to record it.

I recorded the sound, then watched ANH. Sure as shit there it was, right after Obi-Wan was struck down by Vader. I haven't rewatched the rest of the movies, but I know the sound plays again in TFA when Rey fires up the engines and in TLJ when Luke enters the Falcon cockpit and the lights turn on.

Totally unexpected and badass that I stumbled onto this little gem. I'll be heading up to the dam again soon, this time to shoot a video so y'all can see it too.
