Yahoo Was Offered Google for $5 Billion. They Said No. Google Is Now Worth $4 Trillion #shorts #usa

In Silicon Valley's most expensive boardroom mistake —
Yahoo turned down buying Google, Facebook, and then
rejected a $44.6 billion offer from Microsoft.

In 2002 two Stanford students walked into Yahoo's
California headquarters and offered their search
engine for $5 billion. Yahoo's CEO walked out.

Those students were Larry Page and Sergey Brin.
Google is now worth $4 trillion.

Four years later Zuckerberg offered Facebook to Yahoo
for $1 billion. Yahoo lowballed him. He walked.
Meta is now worth $1.74 trillion.

In 2008 Microsoft offered to acquire Yahoo itself
for $44.6 billion. Yahoo said no. They eventually
sold to Verizon for $4.48 billion — nine years later.

Google. Facebook. Microsoft. Three denials.
$5.8 trillion dollars — gone.
