Where Is it?
Western tip of Queens just in front of Manhattan’s Upper east side which is at one subway stop on the 7 line. It’s easy reachable by lines 7/G/E/M/R/N/W.

Short Story
Incorporated as a separate city in 1870, Long Island City was originally the seat of government of the Town of Newtown, before becoming part of New York City in 1898.

The Character
Unlike the chaos of Manhattan, the industrial roots gives to the neighborhood a more isolated feel. The presence of the MoMa’s PS1 add an art feeling but with the entry of Amazon It supposedly will be more and more a mix between art and tech.

Neighborhood’s Heart
Waiting for Amazon’s campus at the moment the MoMA's contemporary-focused PS1 museum is the heart and artistic center of this community.

Neighborhood’s Icon
Long Island City was once home to many bakeries and factories, including a Pepsi bottling plant whose iconic sign can be seen from Gantry Plaza State Park.

Neighborhood’s Gem
The views from Gantry Plaza State Park are truly unparalleled. Residents relish its acres of manicured green space and sweeping views of Manhattan’s skyline.

Investment opportunity
The news that Amazon will come here with its new HQ and with 25,000 well paid employees with it is a good news for the investors indeed, the relative low prices compared to the close Upper East Side and Manhattan in general, and the quantity of condos on sale at the moment make LIC a very good investor choice, but the moment is now.

What was once an industrial district is turning into an artistic and technological area, the lack of tree-lined streets is compensated by the beautiful view from Gantry Park. Vernon Blvd is the most commercial area while Court Square and the waterfront are the most residential. The presence of MoMa and the upcoming arrival of Amazon make LIC an excellent real estate investment.
