Ruptly was given a tour of one of three Soviet bunkers which were presumably used to store nuclear arms, in the Polish village of Podborsko on Sunday.

Polish archaeologists and scientist are certain that the facilities, which during Soviet times were officially reported as warehouses for communications troops, were in fact used to store nuclear weapons.

Lukasz Gladysiak, bunker tour guide, confirms that there was “possibility of storing up to 80 nuclear air bombs in each shelter.”

The shelter in Podborsko was “1,000 sqm, of course, the storage area is the larger part”, said Gladysiak.

“The storage part was tightly closed, access to it was allowed only when it was necessary to perform work on nuclear cargo, he added.
